Waneta Carlyle Swoyer, age 87, of Connorville Ohio, died Friday, November 11th 2022, at Cherry Blossom Senior Living Columbus Ohio

Waneta was born December 3rd, 1934, at Martins Ferry Hospital, to Bernard and Waneta Reardon. She was raised in Piney Fork Ohio and later Connorville Ohio where she lived the rest of her life. Graduated from Warren Consolidated High School, Tiltonsville Ohio. A Presbyterian by faith. Waneta married Clarence Swoyer on June 23rd 1956, at the Rayland United Presbyterian Church.

Waneta earned her Diploma in Nursing at the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing, Wheeling WV, earned her B.S.N at Ohio University, Graduated Summa Cum Laude, Athens Ohio, and her Master’s Degree in Education with a major in Community Counseling from Ohio University , Athens Ohio. Member Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Following her training and education she served as an instructor at the Ohio Valley School of Nursing, Wheeling WV, instructor-Staff Development, Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling WV, Instructor/Lecturer West Virginia Northern Community College, Weirton WV, and Nursing Instructor Belmont Technical College, St Clairsville Ohio. She was a member of American Nurses Association and American Association for Counseling and Development.

Waneta was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence. Waneta is survived by her son Patrick (Brenda) Swoyer, Daughter Colleen (Marty) Timko; Her three grandson’s, Sean Swoyer, Corey (Kristina) Swoyer, Benjamin (Courtney) Swoyer; Four great-grandchildren, Riley, Suzanna, Destiny, and James.

She enjoyed her life, loved her family, and her close friends. She said “I lived a good life”.

At the family’s request no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or The American Heart Association.
