Thomas Elmer Zonker sr., 74, of Rayland, OH, died Monday, October 12, 2020, at huis home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born July 8, 1946, in Steubenville, OH, to the late Charles and Clara (Belle) Zonker.
Tom was a retired engineer for American Electric Power. He worked at the Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, OH, for 38 years. He was happiest on his farm watching his grandchildren play.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Timothy Zonker; a brother Jim Gasmire and daughter in-law Jackie Zonker.
Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Nieb) Zonker; two sons, Thomas Zonker Jr., of Cranberry Township, PA and Benjamin (Jo Elle Westfall), of Rayland, OH; a daughter, Shannon (Michael) Balcom, of Rayland, OH; grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Amand, Neta Sue, Joseph, Mason, Bailey, Logan, Emily, Benjamin “Todd” and Mason, who called him grandpa 3; two brothers in-law Jerry and Wayne Nieb and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Tom and celebrate his life on Thursday, October 15th, from 7-9 at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, and again on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, from the funeral home, 11 am, with Reverend John Chestnut, officiating.
