Ronald Marconi, 84, formerly of Rayland, OH, died Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Mercy Anderson Hospital, in Cincinnati, OH.
He was born on August 25, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, to the late Joseph and Mary (Mikles) Marconi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Marconi.
Ron was a 1956 graduate of Warren Consolidated High School in Tiltonsville, OH. He joined the Navy and sailed aboard the USS Lexington aircraft carrier on cruises around the Pacific, including stops in Hawaii, Japan, and Hong Kong. After serving for three years, he returned to Tiltonsville and worked as a cement finisher, then became a civil engineer working in the concrete lab for AEP.
He is survived by wife Judith (Takach) Marconi, daughter, Cheryl, and son, Roger; a brother, Alan (Diane) Marconi and a sister, Linda (Jim) Fleahman. The family lived in Rayland, Ohio, until moving to Cincinnati in 1987, where he found a new group of golf and mall walking buddies.
A lifelong accordionist, Ron formed the Ron Marconi Orchestra which played throughout the Ohio Valley for decades. He was passionate about golf, the Steelers, and Ohio State football, and his cat Tommy. He also enjoyed traveling, visiting Mexico and Jamaica in addition to annual golf trips to Florida. He never tired of telling stories about his friends and growing up in the valley.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Ronnie and celebrate his life on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 5-9, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville. OH.
Full Military Services will be conducted at 10:15 am at the Funeral Home with the Belmont County Honor Guard.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Saturday, 11 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, OH, with Father William Cross.
