Robert “Pete” Petras, 78, of Mt. Pleasant OH, died, Saturday, November 9, 2019, at his home.
Pete was born on October 4, 1941, in Columbus, OH, to the late Steven and Anna (Vass) Petras.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Petras and a sister, Nancy Leis.
Pete was a self-employed machinist and worked at Hanna Coal. He served in the United States Navy, was a former councilman for Mt. Pleasant and the sexton at Highland Cemetery. Pete raced stock cars and built motors for many people throughout the valley. However, his greatest passion was helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean (Brown) Petras; a daughter, Cindi (Brad) Moore; two grandchildren, Chelsea Carlberg and Chailyn Marsili; three great-grandsons, Damian, Logan and Jaxon and a sister, Susan Puskas.
Private services were entrusted with Ohio Valley Care Cremation / Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
