Michael Nameth, age 98, of Rayland, OH, passed on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Forest Hills Care Center, in St. Clairsville, OH.
He was born on August 23, 1922, in Adena, OH, to the late Walter and Edna (Stark) Nameth.
Mike was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Agostini) for 73 years and beloved father of Michael (Karen) Nameth and Randall (Kathleen) Nameth. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Best and Sarah (Russ) Cramer and two great-grandchildren, Claire and Henry Best
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Joseph, Andrew, Frank and Stanley Nameth and four sisters, Anna Goletz, Agnes Masloski, Helen Angel and Mary Ronevich.
Mike was retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as a Transportation Manager. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Tiltonsville, OH, where he was an usher and alter-server. He coordinated bingo at the Church for over 20 years and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He also co-founded the annual charity golf scramble for the Church. Mike was an avid sports fan and followed the Pirates, Steelers and Ohio State football and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of The Indian Club and Pine Valley Sportsman's Club.
Private services will be conducted with the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with Father William Cross officiating.
Contributions in his honor can be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Meals on Wheels or a charity of the donor's choice.
