Marlene Harn
April 16, 1941 – February 15, 2026
Marlene Harn, 84, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 15, 2026.
Born on April 16, 1941, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Marlene was the beloved daughter of Josephine and Andrew Markovich. She was her parents’ delight and carried their love with her throughout her life. She grew up in Yorkville, Ohio, graduating from Yorkville High School, and carried her small-town warmth and work ethic into every season of her life. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Andrew and Michael, who both passed away as children.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, Kenneth B. Harn. Together they built a life marked by devotion, resilience, and shared purpose. Their marriage of more than six decades was the steady foundation of her world.
Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Silvius, her son-in-law Ryan Silvius, and her cherished grandchildren, Ellie Arnett and Hudson Silvius, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
For 24 years, Marlene made Columbia, Missouri her home, where she built deep friendships and a meaningful career. As Vice President of Operations for TFE, Inc., she led her team with strength, clarity, and her trademark determination. She was known for her straightforward wisdom — often reminding others to “attack the problem” — and for maintaining “no tolerance for gossip.” She believed in integrity, accountability, and doing things well.
In retirement, she and Kenneth settled in Brooksville, Florida, where her leadership and service continued to flourish. She served as President of the Garden Club in Glen Lakes, President of PEO, and faithfully ran a soup kitchen through her local Methodist church. Service was not something she did occasionally — it was simply who she was.
Marlene was known for her hospitality and grace. She was a gifted cook who often said, “If you can read, you can cook.” When family came to visit, she filled the refrigerator with everyone’s favorite foods before they arrived. Her home was always beautifully decorated, thoughtfully arranged, and welcoming — a reflection of her sense of style and her desire to make others feel cared for. She had a way of bringing light into any room she entered.
Her family was her greatest joy. She loved deeply, gave generously, and lived with purpose. While her absence leaves a profound ache, her legacy of hospitality, strength, and unwavering devotion will continue in the lives of those she loved.
A celebration of Marlene’s life was held in Brooksville Florida on Saturday, February 23rd. Many gathered to remember her warm smile, gift of hospitality and love for others.
