Louise Marie Phalen

Louise Marie Phalen, 94, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away, Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Trinity West Medical Center, in Steubenville, OH.

She was born July 13, 1927, in Deep Run, OH, to the late Joe and Margaret (Ronyetz) Stupak.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Vargo; 2nd husband, Bill Phalen; a brother, Jeff Stupak and a sister, Margie Laase.

Louise enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to crochet and make afghan blankets for everyone. In her spare time, she worked on puzzles and watched the Pittsburgh Pirates.

She is survived by three sons, Steve (Karen)Vargo, Mark (Mindy) Vargo and Ronald (Barbara) Vargo; daughter, Beth Ann (Jon) Lewis; two brothers, Ted (Nettie) Stupak and Joe “Buddy” Stupak; ten grandchildren, Steve (Stephanie) Vargo, Tara Vargo, Ashley (Jason) Costello, Vanessa (Jorge) Alves, Nikki Kyrston; Nicole Lewis, Luke (Aimee) White, R.J. (Alyssa) Vargo, Justin Vargo and Christifer Vargo; five great-grandchildren, Anne, Noah, Sophia, Cruz and Cashton and special friend, Kris Prati.

Private services are being held at the convenience of the family, at Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with Father William Cross officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or St Judes Childrens Hospital in Louise’s name.
