The Elect-Lady Lottie Lois Kimble Agnew peacefully went home to be with the Lord with her daughter, Renee at her bedside, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place Care Center South in Wheeling, WV. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert L. and Bettie Bartley Kimble of New Waverly, TX. A graduate of Willis Colored High School, she also attended Texas Southern University. In 1951, she was baptized in the Name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost under the pastorate of the late District Elder A. J. Patterson of Houston, TX. During a Saturday Fellowship Meeting, she caught the eye of James M. Agnew, Jr., a man in uniform. After a brief courtship, they married in 1955 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage. They were blessed with nine children, all of whom are saved today, following the guidance and example of their parents. Sister Agnew was a dedicated worker in the household of faith. She often shared that her first position in Sunday School was as treasurer at the age of 13 in her Baptist church. As a member of Shiloh Temple, she served in numerous capacities over the years, including Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Missionary President, Prayer Band (original member), Usher Board, Treasurer, Mentor/Advisor, and First Lady to District Elder James M. Agnew, Jr. Under her leadership, Shiloh Temple initiated vacation Bible school and the annual Women’s Day. Mother Agnew also served as the Vice-President and then President of the Valley District (SER) Missionary for many years. She cherished the Ohio District Council, where she attended the Ministers’ Wives-Ministers’ Widows and Christian Women sessions. Known for her love of cooking and baking, she shared her culinary talents during Councils and as a cook for the Children and Teen Camps. Mother Agnew loved traveling to district, state, and international meetings, and her poetry was featured in the ODC and International MWMW’s newsletters. In addition to cooking and writing poetry, Mother Lois enjoyed sewing, gardening, and caring for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a deep burden for souls and was known for her intercessory prayers on behalf of pastors, churches, her family, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband District Elder James M. Agnew, Jr., an infant son Anthony Wayne, two sisters Luida Sessions and Evangelist Bettie Wright, three brothers: Charlie and Willie Wright; Robert Kimble, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Andrea, lovingly known as “Necie” and great-grandson Clayton Ryan Spencer. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Rosalind of the home; Wanda (Gary) Morgan, Zanesville, OH; L. Renee (Tyron) Spencer, Yorkville, OH; Tracy, Martins Ferry, OH; and five sons: James (Kim), III, Martins Ferry, OH; Jose (Phyllis), Morgantown, WV; Stacey (April), Bridgeport, OH; Juan (Tiffany), Martins Ferry, OH; and Douglas (Brenda), Bridgeport, OH.
