Obituary

Karen Lee (Baker) Motto (75) of Rayland, OH, passed away peacefully on June 5,2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by her family.

Karen was born January 31, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Helen (Baker) Supinski. Karen is now in her heavenly home with her Lord and her soulmate and loving husband Fred.

When thinking of Karen words like kind, caring, compassionate come to mind. She wasn’t just “grandma” she was a GMa and GG. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful friend to many. She was the manager of Pizza Express for over 20 years and created custom wedding, birthday and special occasion cakes for over 30 years. You should consider yourself lucky if you ever got to taste her delicious baking. She worked for Giorgio's, a national biscotti company based in Bellaire, Ohio. When she wasn’t baking cakes or slinging pizzas, she enjoyed creative endeavors, making beautiful crafts, celebrating family and friends, cooking, going to musicals, solving puzzles, and rooting for the Steelers and Pirates. Knowing Karen was to love Karen. Her smile brightened everyone’s day. She cared deeply for her community. She might’ve been your Girl Scout, Brownie or Cub Scout leader. She was the president of the softball league, a band, softball, baseball, volleyball and basketball mother. She probably made your wedding cake. She also cooked for and fed almost the entire High Schoolsoftball team before the games. Karen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Rayland Methodist Church and worked as the Water Clerk for the Village of Rayland. Karen graduated from WCHS in 1966 and was active with the reunion committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Motto; son, Franco Motto; granddaughter, Kayla, her mother, Helen Supinski, stepfather Joseph Supinski Sr., stepbrothers Joseph Supinski and Tom Supinski, and stepsister Marilyn Supinski.

She is survived by daughters Crystal (Margie) McNamara. Tammy Morelli, Claudette Motto and. Grandchildren James (Katy) Morelli, Michael (Alyssa) Morelli, Ashley Morelli, Brandon Motto, Bailee(Chase) McNamara, and Laynee Motto. Great Grandchildren Avery, Warren, Maverick, Julianna, Everett, and Dominic. Daughter in law Amber Motto, Brother-in-law Gary (Tammy) Motto, sister in laws Joyce Supinski and Cindy Supinski, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to Karen and celebrate her life on Friday, June 9th, from 2pm until the time of service of 7pm, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with Reverend Tom Thomas officiating.
