John Sterling Jr, 79, of Clark, OH, passed away, Friday, July 4, 2025, at South Brook Health Care, in Springfield, OH.
John was born February 25, 1946, in Bellaire, OH, to the late John and Barbara Sterling Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sterling and his stepdaughter, Lori Summers.
John was a graduate of Bellaire High School. After high school, he served in the United States Navy. John was a janitor for Buckeye Local School District for many years. He enjoyed doing puzzles and fishing in his spare time. John’s family meant everything to him, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He survived by his son, John (Toni) Sterling III, of Springfield; his stepdaughter, Tammy Sterling; ten grandchildren, Jonathan Sterling, Sierra Sterling, Tanesha Levy, Dante Levy, Shane Blumenauer, Preston (Shala) Sterling, Chayanne Sterling, Trevir Sterling, Corey Smith and Carl Jahncke and nine great-grandchildren, Alexavier, Annabelle, Kai, Stella, Dominic and Savannah Willis, Aimee Smith-Antill, Corey James Smith Jr and Meighlaneigh Wilson
Friends will be received to pay tribute to John and celebrate his life on Saturday, July 26th, from 1pm until the time of memorial service of 4pm, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with Pastor Jim Monogioudis officiating. Full Military Services will begin at 1:15, with the Belmont County Honor Guard.
