John David Gebhard

John David Gebhard, 86, of Yorkville, OH, passed away, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his home.

He was born on November 15, 1937, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Hopkins) Gebhard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Peter Wolfe and stepdaughter, Diane Bloom.

John was a graduate of Yorkville High School and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Junction Plant. In his spare time, John was an avid runner and belonged to the Ohio Valley Runners and Walkers Club.

John is survived by his loving wife Madalyn J. Gebhard; a sister, Dee McKean; three children, David Gebhard, Mark Gebhard and Colleen Starkey; four stepchildren, Tim Wolfe, Wally Wolfe, Vicki Schell and Rebecca Murphy; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to John and celebrate his life on Monday, June 10th, from 4-7 pm, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 am, from the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Monogioudis officiating.
