James Edward (Ed) Hogan, 76 of Tiltonsville, Ohio passed away at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH, after a brief illness surrounded by his family on Friday, Oct. 21.
Ed was born in Charleston, WV on June 19, 1946, and is the son of the late Carlos and Olive Hogan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, MaryLee (Hogan) Coffman.
Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Turf Care Supply in 2011. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and also a member of the Indian Club and IOLA club.
Ed leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Bernadette (Moffo) and his four children; Mark (Melissa), Michael (Todd), Bethanne (Dave), and Jeffrey (Jordan), grandson Cameron, brothers, Bob (Lois), John (Sally), Tom (Sandy), and Dick (Sandy), and several nieces and nephews. Ed will also be missed by his grand-dogs, Wyatt, Maglio, and Henry and grand-cats, Bodie and Charlie.
Ed loved spending time with his family. He loved watching sports, especially the West Virginia Mountaineers and tending to his yard and garden.
Friends and family will be received to pay tribute to Ed and celebrate his life on Thursday, Oct. 27. from 2-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 5 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Cross officiating.
Interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, OH.
In-kind donations can be made to the Tiltonsville Food Pantry or the Jefferson County Humane Society & Animal Shelter.
The family also wishes to thank the ICU Care Teams at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH and East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH for their exceptional care and compassion given to Ed and his loved ones through his illness.
