Dorothy J “Meem” Stingle Vargo, age 90, passed away August 21, 2022, at Martins Ferry Hospital with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. Dorothy was born November 21, 1931, at her family home in Jug Run, Dillonvale, Ohio. She was the daughter of Charles F Stingle and Mildred (Rogers) McIntire.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex F Vargo Sr, her sisters, Lucille Woods and Evelyn Levi, and her brother, Charles “Chick” or as she called him “Buddy” Stingle Sr.
Dorothy was a lingerie buyer for 31 years at L.S. Good and Co. She was a member of the Rayland United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women’s Society. Dorothy was also a member of the Hungarian Cultural Club and enjoyed planning many of their events. She was an avid Ohio State fan and on many Saturdays in the fall could be found tailgating with her husband Alex before attending the Buckeye games.
Dorothy leaves behind her loving daughter Marsha (Rich) Cichon, Rayland OH, stepson Alex “Chip” (Jane) Vargo Jr, Holland OH; grandchildren Kim (Dan) Cermak, Dillonvale, OH, Rich Cichon Jr, Bellville OH, Heather (Chuck) Gall, Powell OH, Kris (Sherri) Vargo, St. Clairsville OH; and great-grandchildren, that she loved and cherished, Anna and Daniel Cermak, Ally and Will Gall, Kayleygh and Morgan Vargo.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to Dorothy and celebrate her life, Thursday, August 25th, from 4-8, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, 10 am, from the funeral home, with Reverend Tom Thomas officiating.
