Dorothy Pearl (Hartline) Finney, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, OH, died, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at her home.
She was born on April 28, 1930, in Tiltonsville, OH, to the late Colonel and Lola Pearl (May) Hartline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Finney.
Dorothy was ever an advocate for her children. She was so proud to have five college graduated children and nine grandchildren. Dorothy attended Warren Consolidated School, she belonged to PTO throughout their school years. Dorothy worked concessions stands, sold programs and popcorn for fundraising, and loaned her furniture for school plays. She was a long time 4-H advisor for the Trail Riders (Horses) 4-H Club and helped build the new fairgrounds. She was the best cook and baker. She could whip up seven loaves of bread in no time and did so weekly. She canned vegetables all summer long to feed the family all winter,
Dorothy is survived by five children, Loretta Pearl Finney, of the home, Michael Joseph (Gail) Finney, Timothy Paul (Sharon) Finney, of Rayland, OH, Diana Christina (David) Wentzville, MO and Cecila Jane (Richard) Biram; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Renee) Finney, Clinton (Bobbi Jo) Finney, Leah (Ryan) Curtis, Curtis Biram, Jessica (Jacob) Thompson, Angella Biram, Monica (Donald) Chase, Jennifer (Chris) Dugmare and Michael Justin (Jo Anna) Finney; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Colonel Hartline, of Detroit MI and Charles Henry Hartline, of Fontana, CA; a sister in-law, Leona Pontia (Lee) Finney, of TX and a brother in-law, Paul Finney, of FLA.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Dorothy and celebrate her life on Friday, March 13th, from 3-8, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service of 11 am.
Entombment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following graveside services at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
