Craig Kornetti, 56, of Yorkville, OH, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Trinity West Medical Center, in Steubenville, OH.
He was born November 6, 1965, in Martins Ferry, OH, to Josephine (Dolezal) Kornetti and the late Adam “Babe” Kornetti.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother in-law, Pat Milhorn.
Craig was a graduate of Buckeye South. He later graduated from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. He retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Craig loved law enforcement, so he went back to work and was currently employed at Marshall County Commission, as a courthouse security officer. When Craig wasn’t working, he loved hunting and fishing with his son, Gage. He was a member of Pine Valley, Jefferson and Short Creek Sportsman Clubs. He was also a member of Bridgeport Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 211. Craig was a true leader in his community, he didn’t know a stranger, and was beloved and respected by all who knew him, especially the young men, who were impacted by Craig.
In addition to his mother, Craig is survived by his wife of 25 years, Heather (Milhorn) Kornetti; his son, Gage Kornetti; two brothers, Mark (Carrie) Kornetti and Darren (Patty) Kornetti; a sister, Lisa Kornetti Crook; father in-law, Bob Milhorn (Lori Nieb); several nieces and nephews and his beloved animals.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Craig and celebrate his life on Tuesday, December 7th, from 2pm until the time of service of 7pm, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with Father William Cross officiating.
