Carl Ryan

Carl Everett Ryan, 87 went to be with the Lord December 13, 2018, with his wife and family by his side, at his home, in Adena, OH.

He was born July 22, 1931, in Martins Ferry, OH, the son of the late Paul and Margaret Mohney.

Carl was preceded in death by Grand Parents, Charles and Georgia Koch; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Ryan and James Mohney; sisters, Donna Hanks and Gerrie Leach; a daughter, Kay Johnson; son’s-in-law, Ed Johnson, Jim Bero, Peter Zucco, Samuel Heater and Don Ulrey.

Carl will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a man who would lovingly give to others in need and expect nothing in return. Carl enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He worked at the former Valley Machine Shop and was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Carl was a Christian by faith and had a genuine love for the Lord. He attended The First Christian Church of Martins Ferry and the Hopedale Church of Christ. Also, he was a member and past president of the Pine Valley Sportsman Club.

While Carl is no longer with us in the physical world, he has transitioned to his New Spiritual Life above, where disease and pain are no more.

He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (Williams) Ryan; a sister, Peggy (Don) Lipperman; a brother, Willis (Vera) Mohney; children, Steve (Sharon) Ryan, Connie (John) Hajny, Debra Diane Heater, Debbie Jane Zucco, Dawn Bero and Barbara Ryan; sisters-in-law, Marge Ryan and Mandy Mohney; an Aunt, Doris Stilwell; 18 Grandchildren; 27 Great-Grandchildren; 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family

The family comes forward with sincere thankfulness to all involved in Carl’s care. In addition, a special thank you to Valley Hospice, Michelle and Angelica.

Arrangements were handled by Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, OH.

A memorial service for Carl will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 1 pm at the First Christian Church, in Martins Ferry, OH, with Pastors, Rod Kasler and Dean Blythe as celebrants.
