Laurence franklin Parsons, 96, of Tiltonsville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Wheeling, Hospital.
Larry was born on August 19, 1922, in Tiltonsville, OH, to the late Frank and Mabel (Cope) Parsons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Jean Parsons and a brother, Willard Parsons.
Larry served in the United States Army and was a Sergeant in the 139 4th Battalion, where he fought in the Pacific during WWII’ ; he was a proud member of the Musicians Local 142, a member of the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department, the American Legion, Ohio River Valley Elks, Yorkville VFW and was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 wonderful years, Virginia (Blake) Parsons; a son, Rick (Peg) Parsons; a daughter, Peggy (Tom) Grady; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received to pay tribute to Larry and celebrate his life on Sunday, November 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Full Military services will be conducted on Monday, at 10:45, at the funeral home with funeral services following at 11 am with Pastor Dan Holt officiating.
Burial will follow at Upland Cemetery.
