John Chrisagis Obituary

John Chrisagis, 77, of Yorkville, OH, died, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at east Ohio Regional Hospital, in Martins Ferry, OH.

He was born on April 17, 1941 in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Zacharia and Genevieve (Plewniak) Chrisagis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite R. (DeFilippo) Chrisagis and his Father and Mother- in-law, Anthony & Carmella DeFilippo.

John was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville, a former member of the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department, and a very proud Co-founder of The Chrisagis Brothers Ministries. John was the most devoted husband, father and friend. Everyone who met him, loved him. He never knew a stranger, and called him “Dad”, including the Hollywood Stars and Christian Music Legends, who knew him. He was the example of what Christian living is all about. He had a heart BIGGER than the world. He lived his life for family and friends. His motto in life was taking the acronyms of family- Forget About Me- I Love You.

John is survived by his three sons, Anthony (Barbara), Brian and Shawn Chrisagis; a brother, James (Marsha) Chrisagis and beloved companion, Renee Stewart.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to John and celebrate his life on Monday, November 5th from 2-8 at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 11 am, from the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Marenalli officiating.

Burial will follow at Upland Cemetery.
