Anthony Saverio "Tony" Moscato age 67 of Rayland, Ohio passed away
peacefully to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 17th. He was surrounded
by his loving, caring family at the Ross Heart Hospital, The Ohio State
University in Columbus, Ohio.
Tony was born on August 18, 1951 in Martins Ferry Hospital to the late Frank
A. and Irene M. (Pulice) Moscato. He graduated from Yorkville High School
in 1969 and served in the United States Army Reserve for 8 years. Tony
attended The Ohio State University and Columbus Art Institute where he
earned a degree in Mechanical Drawing. Tony was retired from his consulting
firm where he served as a National Benefits Consultant for 15 years and
prior to that was CEO of Moscato Insurance Agency where he was an
Underwriter/Broker for over 20 years.
Tony was a life-long member of St. Joseph & St. Lucy Catholic Parishes in
Tiltonsville & Yorkville, Ohio. He was a dedicated member of the church and
was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Councils 5583 and 1421.
He was a Life member of the Yorkville V.F.D. as a firefighter and an EMT.
Tony was a member of: the Holy Name Society, the Fraternal Order of Eagles,
the Tiltonsville Indian Club, The Commission of Design and Draft, the Sons
of Italy in Bellaire, OH, a member of VetFriends and a Life Underwriter
Fellow.
Tony was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by: his two sons,
Anthony (Katie) Moscato of Oregon and Stephen Rocky (Rainey) Moscato of
Amherst, OH; and a daughter, Leslie (Chris) Murdock of New Albany, OH. He
is also survived by his 4 brothers; Valentino (Virginia) Moscato of
Dillonvale, OH, Sam (Marilou) Moscato of Gahanna, OH, Michael C. Moscato of
Gahanna, OH, and Joseph (Ellen) Moscato of Powell, OH. Tony was also
blessed with: 7 grandchildren; Adam Duncan Moscato, Jade Moscato, Mila
Fiorina Moscato, Armin Joseph Moscato, Rachel Murdock, Wynnleigh Murdock and
Hallie Murdock. Tony was very close to his many nieces and nephews, and
loving cousins as well.
Tony enjoyed: traveling with his family; including his special cousins,
reading and watching Sci-Fi, the Pittsburgh Steelers & Pirates and The Ohio
State Buckeyes. Tony will be remembered by his larger than life
personality, glowing smile, love and acceptance of all he met.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Tony and celebrate his wonderful
life on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Borkoski Funeral
Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be held on
Monday, July 22nd, at 11 am, from St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Upland Heights
Cemetery, Yorkville, OH.
Full military services will be conducted at Upland Cemetery by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
