Dorothy Rose Kovach Kaminski, 89, of Adena, OH.  Died Monday, December 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by loving family and friends.  She was born May 5, 1928 in Dillonvale, OH, a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Kolar) Kovach.  She was a 1946 graduate of Dillonvale High School.  After graduation she was employed by the Dillonvale Co-op and later The Ohio Power Company.  She married Edmund Kaminski in 1950 and they moved to their lifelong home in Adena, OH.  She would later be co-owner of the Pine Valley Lumber Company in Dillonvale, OH with her parents and husband.  She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Casimir Parish in Adena for over 50 years.  She took part in many aspects of parish life including the Catholic Women’s Society and Rosary Society. 

She is survived by her three sons whom she loved dearly, Kerry (Vicki) Kaminski of Saline, MI, Kelly Kaminski (Carol Garcia ) of Pasadena, CA and Scott Kaminski of both Adena/Hilliard, OH; A brother Richard Kovach (JoAnn Whetsell) of Jefferson, OH; A sister in law, Jean Kovach of Jefferson, OH;  An Uncle John (Marge) Kolar of Garfield Hts., OH; Six grandchildren, Andrew (Hannah) Kaminski of Stamford, CT, Matthew Kaminski of Madison, WI, Margaret Kaminski of Los Angeles, CA, Emily Kaminski of Denver, CO, Michael Kaminski of Detroit, MI and Ellen Kaminski of Santa Monica, CA.  Many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends and her beloved dog Spirit.  She was a wonderful wife, mother grandmother, Aunt and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Edmund Kaminski in 2004; a sister Elaine (Richard) Gazzola; an exchange student who was considered a son George “Jorge” Luna of Atiquipa, Peru.

Friends may call at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 111 South Bridge Street, Adena, OH on Thursday, December 28 from 5 pm – 8 pm with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm, Friday, December 29 from 1 pm – 3 pm and 5 pm – 8 pm with a vigil service at 7:30 pm.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 30 at 10 am at St. Casimir Church, 221 Hanna Ave., Adena, OH with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating.  Entombment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Pleasant Grove, OH.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Adena Healthcare and Rehabilitation and her caregivers Donna Kniszek, RoseAnne Sasak, Tammie Bumbico, Jessica Jones, and Malinda Wells whose loving care made her final years so wonderful.  May God bless them all richly.
